Enjoy the London Life with your Little Ones

My little ankle biters absolutely love heading into London. Even the train journey in is ‘the best day in the world, ever’. Easily pleased! If you’re planning on taking the kiddies in to London, we’ve pulled together our recommendations on what not to miss.

City Sightseeing London Hop On Hop Off Tour

If you’ve read any of my other posts you’ll know what a geeky fan of bus tours I am, and there’s no better way for children to see London than on a sightseeing bus. You’ll avoid the achy legs whinging and get to see all the best bits of London including Big Ben, The Tower of London, The London Eye and Buckingham Palace. And, as the name suggests, you can hop on and hop off as you please, ticking off the landmarks and attractions as you go.

Harrods Toy Kingdom, Knightsbridge

A visit to Harrods Toy Kingdom will bring your lucky little nippers to a magical wonderland full of surprises, entertainment, lights and noise; quite unlike anything you, or they, will have seen before. And the good news is, there’s no cost to play. There are six themed “worlds” waiting to be explored including a Big Top, Enchanted Forest and Candy Store. While you’re there jugglers, acrobats, magicians and dancers will be waiting to entertain the children, and the area is awash with real trees, space pods, wigwams and yurts making it an adventure from start to finish. Good luck leaving without buying at least one treat!

Up at the O2, Greenwich

Do you have a young Spider-Man enthusiast at home? If so, this is a must-do for you. Not for the faint hearted, why not book an expedition and scale the iconic O2 (Millennium Dome) in Greenwich – the ultimate daring children’s adventure. At the top enjoy 360 views of East London, before beginning your descent back down to solid ground. This will help build confidence, self-esteem and it’s just ridiculously good fun too.

ZSL London Zoo, Regents Park

London Zoo is the world’s oldest zoo dating all the way back to 1828, thankfully it’s moved with the times and is now an absolute must-see when you’re in London with the kiddies (or even without them!). There’s so much to see and do here you’ll need the whole day. Our favourite things are; getting up close to the mighty Asiatic lion in the Land of the Lions, the giraffe viewing platform and, if you’re brave enough, why not take a stroll through Europe’s only walk-through spider enclosure.

Natural History Museum, Kensington

Plan a trip to the Natural History Museum London, and bring to life the wonders of our world for your little ones. They’ll be blown away by the iconic dinosaur skeleton as soon as you arrive, and the amazing sights continue as you make your way around including; volcanoes, precious gems, creepy crawlies and more dinosaurs (because you can never have enough). What’s more, admission is absolutely free of charge.
