Our Review of Teletubbies Live

We were fortunate enough to be invited along to see Teletubbies Live! this weekend at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre. If you’re yet to experience the theatre in Aylesbury I can’t recommend it highly enough – it still feels brand new and has some fantastic shows coming up including Milkshake Live, Awful Auntie and of course their consistently fantastic panto , which this year is Peter Pan!

I met the Teletubbies last month for an interview and I was surprised how cute they were, and I can definitely understand why toddlers and preschoolers love them so much.

Teletubbies have been on our screens and entertaining children across the world for over 20 years, and has finally hit the theatres to bring us a live version of the much loved show.

The show opens with Sam, played by Naomi quizzing the audience on the Teletubbies before introducing the adorable Dipsy, Tinky Winky, Laa Laa and Po to the stage. We then all go on a fantastic journey to explore Teletubby Land.

On the journey the tubby phone and Noo Noo make an appearance along with some crazy flying tubby toast that my daughter has not stopped talking about.

This live adaptation had my daughter and every other child in the audience mesmerised from start to finish, it was bright, colourful, engaging, full of energy and had just the right level of audience participation. The show is split into two 30 minute halves separated by an interval which is ideal for this age group.

If you didn’t manage to see the show in Aylesbury you can catch them just down the road in Oxford later in the year. For more details about their Oxford performance please click here.
