You really can’t beat a good old pantomime during the festive period, and tonight we were treated to a wonderful evening at Wycombe Swan watching this year’s panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
This show really does have it all, and it had our little ankle biters (who ranged from 5 – 7 years) engrossed from the minute the curtain went up, and dancing in the aisle at the finale. The traditional fairytale is retold for Buckinghamshire families in a charming, funny way, with lots of unique twists and plenty of risqué jokes thrown in for the grown-ups.
The casting’s fantastic. We loved Britain’s Got Talent Star Mandy Muden as the very funny Magical Mirror. Kieran Powell was delightful as Muddles, the loveable and gullible bestie to Snow White, and a big hit with the kids. And then you have Brendan Cole, panto debutant, ex-Strictly superstar and frankly he stole the show for us here too. Who doesn’t want a dose of a sequin clad dance floor extraordinaire included in their pantomime, and Brendan was funny and could sing too.
As well as the show, there’s dining options if you fancied making more of an occasion of it. You’ll also find a bar for refreshments and a well stocked selection of novelty glow toys guaranteed to put a smile on their faces (£6-8).
So, if you’re looking to kick start your Christmas countdown, then we’d highly recommend this cracker of a pantomime at Wycombe Swan.
